Myogi Green Hotel & Terrace: 2019 Kukan Design Award Winner
In 2018, Shelter Dome completed a campsite project in Japan. Around a year later, it was chosen as one of the 2019 Kukan Design Award Selected Works. Congratulate our business partner——Myogi Green Hotel & Terrace, which provides unique geodome glamping experience in Japan.
In 2019, DSA and JCD consolidated two awards and create a new award, “Kukan Design Award”. Kukan Design Award contributes to explore the possibilities of spatial design globally.
Kukan Design Award aims to create new values of spatial design not only in Japan but globally. As we know, it keeps finding and introducing all the outstanding designs and excellent designers globally.

Shelter Dome and Myogi Green Hotel & Terrace cooperated to build some stunning glamping domes as guest rooms. This unique geodome glamping experience has attracted many guests to take a try.
When it comes to glamping, it is all about experiencing nature with hotel-like comforts. Each room has cozy beds, bed linen, dresser, desk lamp, stool, and etc.
Shelter provided a few 6-meter-diameter dwelling domes in this project. Besides those standard rooms with 4 sing beds, there are two deluxe domes that come with a view of Mt.Myogi. Also, there is a pet-friendly guest room called a pet dome tent.
All the eco-living domes provided by Shelter Dome are designed and built with environmental awareness. Its installation won’t damage the surrounding environment. Most importantly, it allows anyone to enjoy hotel-like comforts while staying in nature with your family or friends.
A 10-meter-diameter glamping dome performs as the Reception & Bar at the campsite. Guests can check-in and check-out all day long at the reception desk. What’s more, it is a great enjoy to spend some time near the bay window and take a rest with coffee or alcohol.
